Heroin Treatment and Rehab

Heroin addiction is an all-consuming disease, one that is particularly impossible to navigate without the help of medical professionals. This specific disease is fatal in nature, therefore, it is quintessential to take action as soon as possible. Treating heroin addiction typically requires proper detoxification, partial hospitalization, therapy, support groups, and total lifestyle changes.

Detox is the first step in treating heroin addiction. It is highly recommended that proper detoxification includes help from a team of professionals who are trained to monitor and treat the symptoms of heroin withdrawal. Withdrawals from heroin are painful and some individuals may experience symptoms for weeks and even months. However, medical detox professionals can prescribe medications to minimize the severity of discomfort and promote healing for the body.

For people struggling with heroin addiction, attending a rehabilitation center can be a life-changing experience. Heroin addiction rehab programs may include partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, aftercare planning, and sober living. Whether you or a loved one is struggling with heroin addiction, seeking help is the first step to recovery.

Heroin Rehab and Treatment Options

It’s not uncommon for people to question whether a heroin addict can actually recover from this seemingly hopeless disease. With professional treatment and support from loved ones, struggling heroin addicts are able to find healing. Many factors affect the treatment of addiction as underlying mental health issues contributing to the present co-occurring disorders. It is important to remember, each individual will require an individualized treatment plan to best suit his/her emotional, physiological, and biological needs.

Inpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab is also called residential rehab or partial hospitalization because clients reside on-site in a structured, safe environment that protects the individual from the temptations of the outside world. This type of environment is best for individuals struggling with illicit substance abuse issues as well as long-term addiction.

Inpatient rehab eliminates outside social, emotional, and peer pressures that make it harder for the individual to achieve sobriety. Inpatient treatment varies in length but generally, residents have a structured routine including various daily therapies, support groups, activities, and learn many life skills.

With a low staff-to-client ratio, our partial hospitalization program – at Truth Recovery Center -is designed to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for our clients to reconnect with their sober identities. Our highly trained staff closely monitors residents 24/7 to ensure safety and success. Length of stay is determined by the unique needs of each client and can range from 30 days to 90 days. PHP is provided with daily transportation to our clinical building, where our experienced staff implements a treatment plan based on individual needs. Clients participate in customized therapy sessions to begin the healing process and address their relationship with addiction and substance abuse.

Outpatient Rehab

Outpatient rehab is a step down from the intensity of inpatient rehab. Outpatient rehabilitation gives the individual the ability to commute to treatment from personal or sober living. Ideally, intensive outpatient rehab is the second step after an individual struggling with heroin abuse receives inpatient treatment.

Intensive outpatient treatment will oftentimes include similar treatments that inpatient treatment offers. However, typically clients spend several days during the week receiving treatment and are able to return home at night.

“At Truth Recovery Center, our intensive outpatient program provides clients with additional freedom as they work toward integrating back into everyday life. We assist each client in becoming a productive member of society as we help them secure employment while continuing to monitor and counsel.”

Each client is typically required to observe a curfew and attend individual and group therapy as they continue to build healthy relationships and develop new positive, sober experiences through this transitional phase of the program. In this level of care, highly trained staff works with each client on building life skills, such as writing or revising resumes, scheduling interviews and budgeting money. The goal of outpatient rehab is to integrate the individual back into society while encouraging responsibility, accountability, and overall success.
